About the Campus

Bordering San Francisco’s Mission and Noe Valley neighborhoods, our San Francisco day camp at Thomas Edison Charter serves a diverse population of students, mostly from central and eastern San Francisco. TECA’s campus is spacious and open and features a grandiose playground and blacktop area that are great for summer camp games and rallies.

Lucy is excited and ready to lead our SF-Mission site this summer. She graduated from the University of San Francisco with a degree in Sociology and concentration in Education and is working on earning her Masters in Education and teaching credentials. Lucy e has dreamed about teaching and working with youth since she was 14 years old and is incredibly passionate about the field of education. Originally from South Central Los Angeles, she considers San Francisco her home and has fallen in love with the Mission District. Lucy is thrilled to be working in her favorite district and rock the EDMO vibe with the Mission’s beautiful youth.

Melissa is excited to come back to Camp EDMO™ for the second summer in a row! Last summer she worked as a counselor in the Mission in SF and is happy to be coming back this year as their SEL coach. Melissa loves being outdoors when the sun is at its brightest! She is looking forward to meeting the new staff as well as meeting the new EDMO™ campers!

Profound Inner Growth

Santiago is thrilled to return to Camp EDMO™ for his third summer! He has worked as a Pro Tech and Maker Instructor in the Sunset District and Noe Valley for the past two years and is excited to serve campers and their families as a STEAM Coach this year. Santiago is graduating from USF with a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Child Development and Education. He will be returning to USF in the Fall to receive his Master’s degree and Science Teaching Credential. Outside of camp and school, Santiago enjoys going on long motorcycle rides all over California with friends and visiting new places. A fun fact about Santiago is that he spent last winter teaching Science in Belize! Santiago is excited to bring on the pies this summer!

Alani is extremely excited to be back for another awesome year at Camp EDMO! She loved being a camp counselor last year and is delighted to return as an EDMO Jr. instructor this year! Alani is looking forward to seeing all the bright smiles on campers faces this summer! Here’s a little fun fact about Alani, She absolutely LOVES chocolate!

Abraham has been in the Bay Area for about a year and quickly fell in love for it. So, to return the favor, he is going to be part of Camp EDMO for the first time and have a positive impact on the community that supported him since he arrived in San Francisco. One fun fact about him is that Abraham likes to dye his hair with different colors, making him look like a superhero, a villain or a robot. He also enjoys dancing and making handicrafts.

Dougy is excited to be a part of Camp EDMO for his first summer. He currently works at Mission High School and can’t wait to work on building amazing things with his campers.

Asya is extremely ecstatic to be a new member of the Camp EDMO team for her very first year as a camp counselor. Although she is afraid of butterflies she can’t wait to face camp with no fear.

Ruth is so pumped to be back at Camp EDMO for a second year! Last summer, she also worked as a counselor for SF Mission and enjoyed every day of it. She loves making witty jokes, and cannot wait to come up with more of them and share lots of laughter with all the campers!

Jonina is grateful to be part of the Camp EDMO Mission site for the first time as a Camp counselor! She is patient, encouraging and fun! Many people don’t know that she actually loves to draw hours on end with her iPad. So try to catch her and ask her to draw you something! She can’t wait to see all of you campers this summer!

Connor is stoked to be a first time PRO tech instructor at Camp EDMO. In his free time, Connor likes to run, throw pottery, and spend time soaking up the sun at the beach. Fun fact: Connor’s favorite food is tofu pad Thai!

Sonya is so excited to be working as a counselor at Camp EDMO this summer and can’t wait to meet all the awesome campers! She loves softball, science and baking. Sonya is looking forward to a summer filled with laughter, learning and fun memories.

Dezaray is a fun, loving, compassionate person. She currently works at an elementary school in the Mission district and is a Camp EDMO alum. She is most excited about getting to know all of the campers this summer and in her spare time she likes to draw, watch tv, and play sports. A fun fact about her is that she can make a 3 leaf clover with her tongue.

Alfonso is excited to be a part of Camp EDMO for the first time this 2019 summer. He enjoys playing, laughing, talking, and learning with new friends.

Michelle is happy for her first year at Camp EDMO as a counselor! She is really excited to learn, have fun, and make memories with everyone at camp. In her free time she enjoys baking and traveling.

Julissa is excited to be working for Camp EDMO this summer. She is participating for the first time as a Camp Counselor. She attends UC Merced and she enjoys working with kids but this will be her first time working in a camp site and is looking forward to get the experience. She is also excited to celebrate her June Birthday.

Kyle is excited to join Camp EDMO for his 1st summer as a camp counselor. Kyle enjoys playing basketball with friends and going on hikes in his free time. Fun Fact: Kyle has met Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden.

The DCYF 6 Week Camp EDMO™ Scholarship Program (San Francisco) is a special subsidized 6-week camp experience for 100 kids from priority low income areas, funded by the San Francisco Department of Children, Youth, and their Families.


Need a safe place for your kids to stay once the camp day ends? Our AM & PM extended hours programs run from 8:00AM-6:00PM to give you peace of mind. Great for parents who work, have appointments or just need a little more kid-free time in their day.

Please note that the week of July 1 (camp is closed Thursday, July 4).

Extended Day is included in the price of your program.


Breakfast and Lunch provided by SFUSD Nutrition Services.
