Roblox World Builders
Grades: 3 - 4

Team up with fellow campers to build an epic Roblox world!  In Roblox World Builders, campers will use Roblox Studio to design and build a 3D game world.  Using the “Team Build” feature in Roblox Studio, campers will be able to collaborate in a shared digital space in real time.  They’ll construct towering castles, design futuristic homes, sculpt mountains, carve canyons, and create anything else they and their team can imagine.  We’ll even cover the basics of Roblox coding to bring parts of our campers’ worlds to life!

21st Century & SEL Skill Focus: Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Initiative, Problem Solving, Empathy. Learn more about other skills we build through The EDMO Method™.

Fun Fact. In 2018, there was a 30% increase in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) skills developed for those who attended two weeks of Camp EDMO™ and a 39% increase for returning EDMO™ families over new families!

Please note that campers work in pairs or teams and share computers. This allows for a more collaborative process, as well as more comprehensive and innovative projects. Plus, it’s more fun!

Sample Projects

Build Epic Structures

Build Epic Structures

Campers will design and construct different buildings, vehicles, and decorations, as well as other objects.  Once the basic shape has been assembled, campers will fine-tune their creations with a selection of colors, materials and decals.

Campers will learn the core tools for 3D modeling, and practice creating complex structures by manipulating and combining primitive 3D components like blocks, spheres and cylinders.

Shape Grand Landscapes

Shape Grand Landscapes

Campers will work with Roblox Studio’s “Terrain Editor”, which will allow them to shape and sculpt fields, mountains, rivers, canyons, glaciers, volcanoes, and any other landscapes they can imagine.

Campers will learn about and practice using the “Terrain Editor” in Roblox Studio. They’ll also learn how to use the Generator tool to automatically generate randomized landscapes based on customizable parameters.

Collaborative World-Building

Collaborative World-Building

At the start of the week, campers will work in pairs as they learn the ropes of Roblox Studio. As their skills develop later on, campers will use the “Team Build” feature in Roblox Studio to join a single, shared editing environment and combine everyone’s efforts into one epic project!

As campers work together in a shared space, they’ll build 21st Century and SEL skills like collaboration, communication, task management, responsibility, and empathy.

Our staff needs to get home too.

“My son stepped completely out of his comfort zone last year by attending camp. Upon his return to school, he was more willing to take small risks because of his successes at EDMO. We referred back to his experience at camp often to remind him that he can do it!”
