Roblox Space Academy

Grades: 1st-2nd

All Programs

Blast off for an all new interstellar “Edventure” in Roblox!  In Roblox Space Academy, campers will take on the role of extraterrestrial explorers, completing space-themed mini-games and challenges in Roblox. They will tackle astronaut training courses, pilot a spaceship to distant planets, explore low-gravity moonscapes, navigate asteroid fields, and more. As campers complete these challenges, they’ll be practicing core computer skills like mouse manipulation, keyboard shortcuts, menu navigation, and 3D spatial reasoning. Campers will even get the opportunity to design and build a “Moon HQ” in Roblox Studio, learning the basics of 3D modeling!

21st Century & SEL Skill Focus: Problem Solving, Creativity, Collaboration, Emotion Management, Computer Literacy. Learn more about other skills we build through The EDMO Method®.

Take a look at your camper's daily schedule below, under sample projects!

Sample Projects

Astronaut Training Camp

Astronaut Training Camp

Before taking to the stars, campers will need to make sure they’re prepared for the challenges of extraterrestrial exploration! Our Roblox astronaut training facility will allow campers to practice the basics of navigating and interacting with otherworldly environments.

Campers will learn the basic controls of Roblox, including moving, jumping, climbing, and interacting with objects. They will also practice simple mouse and keyboard manipulation as they go.

Asteroid Defense

Asteroid Defense

A field of asteroids threatens our campers’ spaceship!  Luckily campers will be able to take control of the ship’s laser defense system to deflect the asteroids and clear the way for their adventures.

With each asteroid marked with a letter or short word, campers must type in order for the asteroid to be deflected. This will help campers learn the placement of keys on the keyboard, paving the way for touch typing.

Build a Moon Base

Build a Moon Base

Every interplanetary expedition needs an HQ to call home! Campers will work in Roblox Studio throughout the week to construct a simple base of operations, of their own design, on the surface of the Moon.

Campers will use Roblox Studio to practice the basics of designing in 3D software. They will learn how to navigate the 3D environment, how to place primitive 3D objects and how to use tools like move, rotate and scale to edit these shapes.

Every day is different and we may do this through literature, various methods of meditation, group activities and/or positive vibes. Team time is where the words on our shirts come to fruition and we work on being curious, courageous and kind HUMANS.

Closing Rally
2:40-3:00PM

Our Afternoon rally ends the day in an upbeat way. This gives staff  a chance to wrap up the day, make announcements for the days to follow and give SNAPS!

Pick-Up
3:00-3:15PM

Pull up or walk up, whichever you fancy. Either way we’ll make a point to let you know something special about your child’s day. Look out for our daily email from the Camp Director detailing the activities at your camp location, along with a reminder to visit EDMO At Home to see what to look forward to tomorrow and suggested activities, books, websites, museum exhibitions, and more ways to keep the curiosity going.

After Care, PM Snack & Free Play
3:15-6:00PM

Need a little more time in your day? Our After Care Program is a great option. Campers stay safe while parents or guardians finish up the work day or sneak in that last appointment before picking up the kids. While you’re away, campers can play as they enjoy a little more free time with each other and staff. After Care goes from 3 pm – 6 pm but parents can pick up whenever works for them…but no later than 6 pm please! Our staff needs to get home too.

“My son came home SO HAPPY after day one and on the second day couldn't WAIT to get to camp. He's come home every night laughing and sharing all the fun things he did throughout the day.”
– Paul F., 2nd Grade Santa Rosa Parent
