All Programs

Design and build the city of the future — from your own home! Campers will incorporate elements of design thinking and the civil engineering process as they plan, design, prototype, and test their metropolis. They will include skyscrapers, bridges, homes, and even hovercraft to navigate their city! Campers will take a trip to the past to look at ancient cities, arrive in the present to study modern architecture and zoom into the future to create sustainable solutions for large urban landscapes.

21st Century & SEL Skill Focus: Collaboration, Initiative, Problem Solving, Empathy, Critical Thinking, Creativity. Learn more about other skills we build through The EDMO Method®.

Take a look at your camper's daily schedule below, under sample projects!

Sample Projects

City of the Future

City of the Future

Campers will engage in a collaborative building project to brainstorm, design and build their vision of a futuristic city!

Campers will learn how different materials are used in city design, how architects and structural and civil engineers plan, design and build cities, and how to work together to achieve a goal.

Bridges

Bridges

Prime campers will build a bridge together to hone their collaborative building skills. Max campers will construct a bridge as a roadway to transport people and goods into and out of their city.

Campers will learn how engineers use patterns and different building materials to erect bridges that can hold weight. Additionally, campers will learn how to sketch a design and prototype and test a structure using different materials.

Hovercrafts

Hovercrafts

Campers will design and build a futuristic form of transportation – the hovercraft!

Campers will learn about the force of friction and how hovercrafts make use of thrust to propel them from the ground and create a barrier of air that allows them to glide gently over water or land! Campers will also learn how scientists and engineers are designing more sustainable energy solutions for the future of our transportation systems.

Sample Schedule

  • A Day in the Life...

Some kids thrive on routines and harmony. Others not so much. Good news! We’ve found the secret recipe that works for all EDMO campers!

Prime & Max 1st Half Day Schedule

Check In
9:30 AM (PST)

To ensure your child’s safety and privacy, we have a moderated check-in process that takes approximately 10-15 minutes. As children log in, they’ll be greeted and asked their name and where they’re from!

Opening Rally
9:40 AM (PST)

You never know what surprises await when staff and kids get together. At rally, we’ll share songs, skits, jokes, and ridiculous contests. We might even dress up!

Enrichment 1
9:50 AM (PST)

During enrichment stations, campers really get into the weekly theme and curriculum. Campers are introduced to the weekly subject and concepts, learn new skills and facts, and design, create and build daily and/or weekly projects.

Break
10:50 AM (PST)

Everybody needs a break now and then. This the perfect time for campers to stretch, go the restroom or grab a quick snack before they wind up their morning or afternoon of camp.

Rec 1
11:05 AM (PST)

Just because we’re online doesn’t mean that campers can’t get some physical exercise as well. During our Rec periods, campers will get up and moving with stretching, yoga, jump roping, silly dance moves, and more!

Team Time
11:20 AM (PST)

In Team Time, we focus on team building and community. We get to know our teammates names, meet our Kimochis’ friends and create group names and cheers. We also take time to strengthen our SEL skills and focus on the EDMO RECIPE of Responsibility, Empathy, Collaboration, Initiative, Problem Solving, and Emotion Management. Every day is different and we may do this through literature, various methods of meditation, group activities and/or positive vibes. We work on being curious, courageous and kind HUMANS.

Closing Rally
11:50 AM (PST)

Whether morning or afternoon, our closing rally ends the day in an upbeat way. This gives staff a chance to wrap up the day, make announcements for the days to follow and give SNAPS!

End of Day
12:00 PM (PST)

We know, it’s hard to leave behind all that camp fun. Don’t worry, we’ll all be coming back again tomorrow.
