This is Lauren’s first summer as a director with EDMO™ and she is pumped for a fun and exciting summer. She graduated from UC Boulder with a degree in Biology and after falling in love with field work and research she was inspired to take an internship at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. She then came to San Francisco State University where she obtained her master’s degree in Evolutionary Biology while conducting research at the California Academy of Sciences. She has extensive experience in STEM education and is ready to bring her love of science and passion for education to camp. When not at camp, you can find Lauren out on the hiking trails, playing board games with friends, or curling up with a good book. She can’t wait to have heaps of fun this summer and make amazing memories with the campers and their families.

Former midnight sandwich makers rejoice! Fresh, healthy snacks and lunches are available for daily delivery to your camper. It’s a Snap! To order a quality meal from SchoolFoodies, check the box for Daily Lunch & Snack on your enrollment form. Of course if you want to pack your own lunch, that’s cool too. Please, just do not bring any products that contain nuts. We strive to create a safe place for everyone. Please help us keep our campers and staff safe.

If you wish to customize your child’s lunch, you can do so up until Friday at 8am the week prior to your child starting camp.

There are two lunch sizes:
Regular Lunch (Pre-K – 4th grade):
Cost: $38.00/week ($7.60/day) and includes lunch + morning snack
Portion: 400 – 500 calories
Large Lunch (5th grade – high school):
Cost: $45.00/week ($9.00/day) and includes lunch + morning snack
Portion: 500 – 600 calories
PM Snack (for campers staying for our PM Program):
Cost: $6.50/week ($1.30/day)
Please note that the week of July 4, the cost of lunch will be $30.40 for a
regular lunch and $36 for a large lunch.
Want to Add Lunch? Lunch may be ordered up until Wednesday at midnight the week prior to the week your child is starting camp. To add lunch after you’ve enrolled simply:

Need to Cancel Lunch? Please contact Camp EDMO™ by Wednesday night at midnight, prior to your first day of camp. The cancel deadline applies even if you change camp weeks after the deadline has passed.
Camp EDMO™ is a Nut Free Zone. If you bring lunch/snacks, please do not bring any products that contain nuts. Really.
Also, don’t forget water. Whether you order lunch or bring it from home, we strongly recommend packing an eco-friendly water bottle each day to make sure your camper stays hydrated. All of our facilities have water fountains.
Need a safe place for your kids to stay once the camp day ends? Our AM & PM extended hours programs run from 8:00AM-6:00PM to give you peace of mind. Great for parents who work, have appointments or just need a little more kid-free time in their day.

Campers can make new friends, do arts & craft projects and play games.
Need a little more time in your day? Our PM Extended Day Program is a great option. Campers stay safe while parents or guardians finish up the work day or sneak in that last appointment before picking up the kids. While you’re away, campers can play as they enjoy a little more free time with each other and staff. PM Extended Day goes from 3 PM – 6 PM but parents can pick up whenever works for them.
Note: For our PM Program, we recommend packing an extra snack or adding a PM Snack to your lunch order.
We understand life happens and you cannot be in two places at once. Good news, flexibility is our middle name.

What could be more marvelous than starting a week at camp. Before camp starts each week, parents will receive an email that includes a general schedule for the week. Visit the program page for the session your child is enrolled in to see the specific schedule for your child’s age. Campers usually receive their camp t-shirt on Monday as well.

Kids love this special all-camp day. It could be Water Day, Color War Day or Game Day, with scavenger hunts, capture the monkey and more! Our staff may know what’s in store but campers will just know it’s going to be filled with wacky fun! (NOTE: Our EDMO Jr. campers do not participate in Wacky Wednesday.)
EDMO Max (3rd-4th grade) parents (non-Park locations only), come to our Morning Greet from 8:15am – 8:35am and meet your child’s Instructor and Counselors, as well as see the campus and program classroom.
It’s not camp if you can’t dress a little weird…at least once a week! Each Thursday has a special dress up theme to get campers into the camp spirit and parents into that box of old Halloween costumes…one more time.
Thursday is also the day that parents receive a link to our Parent Survey.
EDMO Pro (5th – 8th grade) parents (non-Park locations only), come to our Morning Greet from 8:15am – 8:35am and meet your child’s Instructor and Counselors, as well as see the campus and program classroom.
It’s the end of the camp week. That means a larger than life rally and campers get to share the projects they’ve been working on with other campers.
EDMO Pro (5th-8th grade) DIY Derby parents may also stop by camp between 3:00 – 5:00pm to see what their DIY Derby campers created during the week.
The Vibe Game
Throughout the day, campers get a chance to earn rewards that recognize actions that exemplify The EDMO™ Vibe. Visit our EDMO Vibe Game™ page to learn more about how we build 21st Century Life Skills in all three groups of EDMO and EDMO Pro campers.
Parents receive a daily email from their Camp Director with updates about their camp location and links to EDMO at Home for details about what their child is doing today and tomorrow, as well as resources for fostering more curiosity at home.
(Please note: there is no EDMO Jr or Pro at our Spring Break camps)
- EDMO Prime, EDMO Max & EDMO Pro–We maintain a camper:staff ratio of 8:1 during all instructional camp activities.
- EDMO Jr– We keep our camper:staff ratio to 6:1…especially when activities involve tying knots, cutting, gluing, or glitter…definitely glitter.
Background Checks: Background checks are performed on all camp staff through Sterling Talent Solutions using CourtDirect™ technology. Their search is based on social security number, name and address and provides instant access to the criminal records located in county court jurisdictions, state criminal records and the Sex Offender Registry. We also do fingerprinting electronically on new camp staff through the DOJ’s Live Scan Program that takes and transmits fingerprints to the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
CPR/First Aid: CPR/First Aid certified staff members are present on-site at all times, including field trips.
If your child gets an unfortunate bump, scrape or hurt feelings, you will receive an Ouch Slip at the end of the day with a staff member’s report of the incident. In the event of any head injury or serious bodily injury, you or your Emergency Contacts will receive a call within 15 minutes of the injury and a full written Incident Report will be provided to you within 48 hours.
If your child is having a hard time adjusting to camp, we will work with you to develop an Action Plan. Unfortunately, if your child repeatedly detracts from the camp experience of kids and staff or compromises the safety of others, we may ask you to pick your child up from camp.
What if my child takes medication during the day?
If you bring medication to camp for your child, you must fill out a FAAP form. Please allow time at Monday drop-off to complete it. If your child will need to take medication, please check it in with the Camp Director on Monday and out at the end of camp with us. Please bring medication in the original bottle with both your child’s name and the dosage clearly legible on the bottle.
My child has allergies, how do you handle this?
Please use our health form to fully describe any allergies your child has. Use the FAAP (Food Allergy Action Plan) available at camp to list foods to which the camper is allergic and the specific symptoms of the child’s typical allergic reaction.
Please be sure to inform your Camp Director of the allergy when you arrive at camp so the appropriate person can be instructed on how to deal with any allergic reactions.
You must provide us with a recent photo of your child, attached to instructions, medical documentation, and medications as prescribed by the physician for managing an allergic reaction.
Campers must be aware of their specific allergies and be instructed not to trade food with others to avoid any types of reaction, and to tell a counselor if a reaction seems to be starting.
My camper is ill today, what should I do?
Please contact your Camp Director if your child is not feeling well and cannot come to camp. If he/she does not answer, they may be at rally or assisting another camper family. In that case, please leave a message.
Please note that weekly rates are not prorated or fees refunded should your child be absent.
In order to ensure the safety of all our campers, all our camp’s sites are designated as “Nut-Free Campuses.” Please DO NOT BRING ANY NUT PRODUCTS (trail mix, peanut butter, granola bars, Nutella, etc.). We apologize for any inconvenience, but our policy ensures the safety of our campers with life-threatening allergies.
We do not allow animals, weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or other banned substances at camp. We have strict safety guidelines and also do not allow any unattended scooters, bikes, or skateboards.
If your child is coming to camp with a scooter, bike or skateboard, they will be asked to store them securely in the Camp Director’s office or lock to a bike rack for the duration of the camp day.
Come to camp early to meet your child’s camp Instructor and counselors and see their classroom! Please be aware that our morning greet sessions start and end promptly on time, please give yourself time to park and walk in. Morning Greets follow this schedule:
- EDMO Junior (Pre-K – K): Monday 8:15 – 8:35 am
- EDMO Prime (1st – 2nd): Tuesday 8:15 – 8:35 am
- EDMO Max (3rd – 4th): Wednesday 8:15 – 8:35 am
- EDMO Pro (5th – 8th) Thursday 8:15 – 8:35 am. DIY Derby Parents are also welcome to visit our Open Gallery on Fridays, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Note: There are no meet the staff events at our Park Locations.
Ages & Groupings
Campers are grouped with kids within 1-2 years of their own age and range from 10-25 in total.
- EDMO Jr–Must be at least 4 years of age by June 1, fully potty trained and used to attending a full day program. (Note: Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. Please call the home office at 415.282.6673)
- EDMO Prime—Entering 1st -2nd grade in the fall.
- EDMO Max–Entering 3rd-4th grade in the fall.
- EDMO Pro–Entering 5th-8th grade in the fall.
Let us know if you’d like your child to be grouped with specific friends. We’ll do our best to honor requests however sometimes circumstances like large age differences, “frenemy” behavior or camper:staff ratios preclude us from being able to group kids together. We’ll let you know if that happens.
In case your kids are in different age groups, don’t worry, they’ll still see each other. Every day we make time to hang out with staff, camp friends and siblings during camp rallies, morning and afternoon breaks, lunch time, and some parts of outdoor recreation.
My child has special needs, can they come to camp?
We want camp to be an inclusive place for everyone and partnering with you helps make it the best it can be. For any questions before the start of camp, please call the Home Office. Once camp starts, we highly recommend emailing your Camp Director with any special needs or information about your camper and to schedule a pre-camp meeting/orientation. We find that the more you tell us, the more successful the camp experience for all involved. A pre-camp meeting also greatly eases the transition Monday morning.
If your child requires an aid at school, please also have an aid with your child at camp. If you do not have access to an aid for your child, a Regional Center of California could be a good place to find services for your family. If you are struggling to find accommodations, we are more than happy to assist you. If you live in Marin County, we have partnered with SummerAde, a non-profit that pairs high school volunteers with children with special needs to aid them during their week at a summer day camp.
If you have an aid, we do require that a short form be completed. This form gives us information about the aid and their agency so that our Camp Director knows to expect them. We also recommend that you notify the Camp Director at your location prior to the week your child is attending camp.
What if there is something special I want staff to know about my child?
You can write your Camp Director a note in the “special instructions” section of your Health History Form online. You can access this by logging into your Account via the Parent Portal. Notes can be as simple as how to help get your particular child focused, their lifelong quest to be an astronaut or just a request to touch base on Tuesday morning. We do find however that the more you tell us, the more successful the camp experience for all involved. It’s all up to you what you want to share!
Equipment & Project Notes
Equipment: We use high-quality equipment and age-appropriate software to create digital works of art sure to impress friends and family. Plus, many of the skills kids build will help unlock the hidden creative potential of your home computer!
Computers: Please note that some of our technology programs feature group projects that require sharing computers. This helps kids develop 21st Century Skills like collaboration and results in more innovative projects–plus, it’s a heck of a lot more fun!
Modified Activities: On rare occasions we may need to modify weekly activities due to weather, material availability, time constraints, or the kid who spilled the entire jar of cabbage juice for the project.
Once summer arrives, campers will be able to access the digital projects they create at camp via EDMO At Home. Projects will be available by the Monday following the week they were at camp. Details on how to access your camper’s projects, and any programs which will need to be purchased or downloaded in order to open them, will be outlined on our website and in your welcome packet prior to the beginning of camp.
Campers are welcome to bring a flash drive from home if they prefer to take their projects home that way.
Any non-digital projects, campers will bring home once they are completed at the end of the week. The exception is DIY Derby and Robotics. Please note that video footage of the end of weeks showcases for these two themes will be accessible via a Dropbox link shared after the final day of camp.
Have any unwanted recycling around the house? Feel free to bring any plastic containers, cardboard, empty ribbon spools, and more camp-safe items to camp to deposit in your location’s Maker Bank. We integrate the Maker Mindset into all of our Science, Tech and Nature Programs so these materials are great to have!
Preparing for Camp
Can I visit camp ahead of time to see what it’s like?
We love visitors at camp. Please call the Camp Director at the location you will be attending, the week before your child is scheduled, to set up a time to come by.
Also plan to come to our Morning Greet.
Pre-K-K (EDMO Jr) parents can come from 8:15am – 8:35am on Monday mornings.
1st-2nd (EDMO Prime) parents come 8:15am – 8:35am Tuesday Mornings.
3rd-4th (EDMO Max) parents come from 8:15am – 8:35am Wednesday Mornings.
5th-8th (EDMO Pro) parents can stop by from 8:15am – 8:35am Thursday mornings.
Regular Camp Hours: 9am-3pm.
What If I need to drop off my child late at camp?
If you are going to be late in dropping off your child at camp, please call your Camp Director. Please note however that they may be leading Morning Rally and therefore unable to answer the phone. You may always leave a message.
If you arrive at camp after 9:10am, please find a legal parking space, walk your child/children into camp, look for signs for where to bring your child, and sign in. Please never leave your child at camp without signing them in with a member of the Camp EDMO™ staff.

Picking Up Late? Please note if you are not enrolled in our PM Program, your account will be charged the “a la carte” rate of $15/hr for any portion of an hour.

Can I add Extended Day options for just one day?
In addition to our weekly AM & PM Extended Day options, we do offer an Extended Day a la carte option which is based on the number of additional hours your child will be at camp. If you are unsure which option is best for you, feel free to reach out to the home office and we’ll let you know if it’s better to add the whole week or get billed at our hourly a la carte rate depending on your needs. Pricing for our Extended Day options are on the page for your camp location.
Can I reserve Extended Day options during my camp week?
You can add Extended Day Options at any time. Either let your Camp Director know and they’ll notify the home office, or feel free to call the home office directly.
What does my child do in the three hours of PM Extended Day?
PM Extended Day goes from 3 PM – 6 PM but parents can pick up whenever works for them. In our PM Extended Day Program, campers spend time indoors and out in a smaller group setting as they enjoy a little more free time with each other and staff.
Am I able to add lunch for just one day?
At present, lunch is available in the Bay Area only with the exception of Novato, Santa Rosa and Petaluma. Lunch is only offered for the entire week of camp and may be ordered up until Wednesday at midnight the week prior to the week your child is starting camp.
When is the last day to order lunch for my camp week?

What does my child need to bring to camp?
Your child should pack the following for camp;
- Lunch and a morning snack (if you haven’t ordered a lunch with AM snack)
- Afternoon snack (if your child is staying for any of our extended day activities and you did not order a PM snack from our lunch provider)
- Sweatshirt (in case it’s cold or wet outside)
- Sunscreen, Hat, Eco-friendly Water Bottle with drinking water (it’s important that kids drink plenty of fluids during the hot summer sun and busy camp day), and
- A change of clothes (especially for younger ones—you know why).
Is there anything special I need to do if my child is attending camp at a park location?
For our park locations, we suggest packing all of the above plus a lightweight outdoor backpack (especially for entering 1st – 8th graders going on weekly off-site field trips). You must also complete our field trip authorization form that we provide at camp.
What can I do if my child misplaces their backpack or something else they brought to camp?
In the inevitable case your child leaves clothing or an item of sentimental and/or monetary value at camp, we will do our best to help you find and retrieve it. If we cannot find it however, Camp EDMO™ is not responsible for these lost or stolen items. Any items that we find will be kept in a “Lost & Found” bin until the last Friday of the very last week of camp at your location. After that date, we donate all unclaimed items to a local charity so that another child may find new joy upon receiving it.
Field Trips: Campers in 1st-8th Grade go on off-site field trips as part of our Nature (Park) program. We have chartered buses to comfortably and safely transport campers who are attending field trips from one place to another. Most field trips return to the park by 2:30pm. If there is a field trip you do not wish your child to attend, we may have space for them to stay with our younger camper group. We suggest you confirm this with the Home Office at 415.282.6673 or 877.993.6673 in advance.
Inclement Weather: Although some of our locations and field trip locations have protected areas, in case it’s cold or wet outside, we usually advise parents to pack sweatshirts for their children so that they are prepared when the temperature is cool.
Park Location Safety Gear: Every Pre-K-8th grade camper receives a distinctive orange bandana with their name on it in our Nature (Park) program. It is MANDATORY that campers wear their orange bandanas so they are easily visible the entire camp day.
Should your circumstances change and your child is unable to come to camp, we are unhappy you won’t be joining us, but happy to issue a refund. A 100% refund is available until April 30th if taken as a credit (If refunded to a credit card, a $25 processing fee will be charged). After April 30th, all refunds will be provided as a credit to your account for the following year.
If you’re not happy with Camp EDMO, please notify your Camp Director immediately. Camp Directors will respond to verbal or written parental concerns within 24 hours and schedule an Action Plan meeting to improve your camp experience. If for some reason you are unable to reach the Camp Director, you may contact the Home Office. 99.9% of the time, we can make it better! If we can’t make it better, then please complete our online Money Back Guarantee Form when camp is in session and we will humbly issue a partial or full refund. Please note refunds are not provided if your child has still attended the majority of the week at camp.
How do I know whether to call my child’s Camp Director or the main office with a question?
If questions arise that have to do with camp and/or the camp day, please contact your Camp Director (like if you need to pick up your child early). If you feel that your concern is urgent and you are not getting a response from your Camp Director, please contact the Home Office.
How do I get a camp statement?
To retrieve your Camp Statement:
- Log in to your UltraCamp Account. From the “My Account” page, you will click on “View my Finances” in the bottom left hand corner of the page.
- Once on the “Finance Information” Page, click on “Print a Statement” in the bottom left hand corner.
- Choose the appropriate season, and a PDF will open with your camp statement!
