This is Lauren’s first summer as a director with EDMO and she is pumped for a fun and exciting summer. She graduated from UC Boulder with a degree in Biology and after falling in love with field work and research she was inspired to take an internship at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. She then came to San Francisco State University where she obtained her master’s degree in Evolutionary Biology while conducting research at the California Academy of Sciences. She has extensive experience in STEM education and is ready to bring her love of science and passion for education to camp. When not at camp, you can find Lauren out on the hiking trails, playing board games with friends, or curling up with a good book. She can’t wait to have heaps of fun this summer and make amazing memories with the campers and their families.

“I can’t wait to get to know all the campers and have a blast this summer! Together, we’ll learn, grow, and have FUN!” – Lauren Amundson, Camp Director

Santiago is thrilled to return to Camp EDMO™ for his third summer! He has worked as a Pro Tech and Maker Instructor in the Sunset District and Noe Valley for the past two years and is excited to serve campers and their families as a STEAM Coach this year. Santiago is graduating from USF with a degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Child Development and Education. He will be returning to USF in the Fall to receive his Master’s degree and Science Teaching Credential. Outside of camp and school, Santiago enjoys going on long motorcycle rides all over California with friends and visiting new places. A fun fact about Santiago is that he spent last winter teaching Science in Belize! Santiago is excited to bring on the pies this summer!
