Miranda is so excited for Spring Break Camp in Rocklin and her second summer directing CAMP EDMO Rocklin – Sierra College! She graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and has a passion for teaching science! Miranda worked as an EDMO360 Presenter, an instructor at Chico State’s Hands-On Science Lab, worked as a summer camp leader for the Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, and is currently the EDMO360 School Year Programs Coordinator for the Sacramento area. She’s also a nationally certified EMT to help keep the kiddos safe! Miranda can’t wait to bring her summer camp spirit, hands-on lab experience and experience with EDMO to Rocklin once again. She loves science! When she’s not in camp mode, Miranda is hiking, running, fishing, playing soccer, backpacking, camping, and throwing a tennis ball for her lovely, energetic yellow lab named Cedar.

“After directing at EDMO Rocklin in 2016 and being a part of the EDMO360 team, I can’t wait to dive back into the camp season! I’m so excited to rock the vibe at Sierra College for the second year! CAMP EDMO offers a fun, nurturing, and caring environment where children can learn and explore. I can’t wait to see our returning campers and meet our new 2017 Rocklin campers!”

Tia is really pumped about her first summer here at CAMP EDMO Rocklin – Sierra College! She attended the University of Pittsburgh as a business major for two years, and will now be attending California State University at Chico starting Fall 2017! Although this is her first year with EDMO, she has experience with multiple summer camps in the area! Tia is super excited to be apart of a new camp atmosphere and bring her electric spirit along too! When Tia’s not at camp, she’s usually at the gym, hiking, playing basketball with her little brothers, traveling or eating!

Mr. Alex has been teaching for almost a decade in most subject areas and grade levels. He enjoys nature hikes and strategy board games. Self-professed nerd, Mr. Alex loves all aspects of science and works to keep learning everyday. If you see him at camp, try to make him laugh or stump him with a riddle!

Jasmine can’t wait for the summer to start, so she can continue her new journey with CAMP EDMO! She is currently a full time student at The Art Institutes of California – Sacramento, studying toward her life’s passion, a Bachelor’s of Science in Filmmaking. She’s worked on over 25 projects, including short films, feature films, and commercials, as well as having written and directed three of her own. In the spring of 2015, Jasmine was part of Cinequest Film Festival’s “Picture the Possibilities” program, in which she and her partner in cinematography taught and mentored 8 middle school students through the process of making their very own short film, “Wearing Me”! Jasmine is looking so forward to this summer with CAMP EDMO, and getting to share her passion and experience with campers who just might want to pursue film themselves!

Clarissa’s knack for helping kids and appreciation for science has her extremely thrilled to join CAMP EDMO for her Second year as a counselor! During the school year, she is a full-time student currently pursuing dual degrees in Paramedicine and Fire Technology in addition to teaching with EDMO360. In her spare time, Clarissa enjoys hiking with her roommates, lip-syncing to 90’s songs, and afternoon naps with her dachshund, Bruno.

Kenia is excited for her Second year as part of the CAMP EDMO Rocklin team! She is an avid volunteer with her community church, a court appointed advocate for foster children, and she loves to work with children of all ages! Kenia has attended California State University, Chico and wishes to continue her education and graduate with a BS in Chemistry. While attending CSU Chico, Kenia tutored high school students in the area of Chemistry and continues to tutor for math and science for high school and jr. high. Kenia is really excited to work with the EDMO team to encourage kids to fall in love with science and create fun and educational projects. When not working at CAMP EDMO, Kenia likes to paint and play with graphic design in her free time! She also loves to travel! Her next adventure location will be Morocco!

Jordan will be a junior at Chico State University in the fall, studying Criminal Justice. Jordan had such an amazing experience at CAMP EDMO last year that he wanted to join us for a second year. In his spare time, Jordan enjoys camping, fishing, spending time with his animals, Nikita, Wrigley and Ella, and watching his Chicago Cubs play!

She had previously worked as a Camp Director at the Mill Valley Park and Recreation’s Summer Camp. She received the position after working as one of their camp counselors. Tina went to school at Chico State where she received Bachelors Degrees in Microbiology and Psychology, as well as a minor in Chemistry. While there, she participated in the Chico State Hands-On Science Lab program as an Instructor. She also volunteered in classrooms around the Chico area and at the Gateway Science Museum as a Microbiology Instructor.
