Mitchell was born and raised in Texas, but has travelled all over. He’s currently studying Animation at Webster University in St. Louis, but is beyond thrilled to spend the summer in the beautiful Bay Area with his brother and nephew-puppy, an Australian Shepherd named Dexter. He’s lived in British Columbia, and spent the last six summers working at an overnight camp in southern Virginia. Mitchell’s go-to classes in Dungeons & Dragons are a rogue or a wizard, and he can often be found tending to his virtual farm, playing the bass guitar for a musical, or smothering his cat, Young Griff, with the love a kitten deserves. This is his first time working with CAMP EDMO, and Mitchell is excited and ready to have an outstanding summer.

Claire is super excited for her first summer at CAMP EDMO! She’s currently studying Education and Psychology at Vassar College in New York. Claire is particularly interested in studying ECE curriculum development based on contemporary research. Most of her time is spent working as a classroom assistant in a preschool on campus. When not working in the preschool, Claire can be found doing yoga, selling bread to raise money for a local food bank, and working as the makeup artist for a student-run magazine. While she loves being on the East Coast for school, Claire is glad to be home in San Francisco for the summer.

Sarina is super excited to be returning to CAMP EDMO for her second summer! She is a rising junior at Bible College in Southern California working on her degree in Early Childhood Education. While there, she works with the Junior High church in Riverside. Sarina loves to be outdoors, enjoying everything the day has to offer! She loves hanging out with her friends playing Volleyball, or road tripping somewhere new and exciting. Sarina absolutely loves CAMP EDMO and can’t wait to see what this summer has to offer!

Audrey Harrigan is returning as a camp counselor for her third year and is going to be a college freshman at Kenyon College this August. Audrey loves working with kids and the fun camp environment at EDMO. Throughout the school year she tries her best to work with children, often by babysitting, and comes up with new creative games and activities for them. To occupy her free time Audrey is part of her school theater group, Model United Nations club, and loves to take her dogs to the beach. She is looking forward to using all the skills she learned from camp last year this summer!

Veronica, Ms. Veronica for the kids, is Bay Area through-and-through, raised in Richmond, CA for most of her life. She is currently a Sophomore at Mount Holyoke College, which is a women’s college located in South Hadley, Massachusetts. Veronica loves caring for all living organisms, it gives her life and brings her joy. She is really into math, science, and poetry – it just gets her blood pumping. Veronica loves the earth and its creatures, which is why she is majoring in Environmental Studies. Oh yeah, and she’s a twin to a beautiful sister named Valerie! Veronica cannot wait to spread her joy and love this summer with EDMO!

Kenya is excited to be a Counselor at CAMP EDMO for his 4th summer! Kenya is currently attending Ohio Wesleyan University, working to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Kenya enjoys spending time outside with friends and family, and playing basketball in his free time. Kenya is excited to ROCK THE VIBE this summer!

Melanie Alameda is thrilled to be returning to CAMP EDMO for her second summer as the Science/Maker Instructor! After earning her B.A. in Music – Vocal Performance from the University of Arizona, Melanie moved to San Francisco where she is currently working toward her Master’s at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her experience in music has ranged from musical theatre to her current studying of opera. Not only does she have a love of music, but also a variety of sports including basketball, swimming and volleyball. Melanie is excited to share her talents with all the campers at CAMP EDMO whether it be in song or just plain fun!

Catherine (Catie) cannot contain her excitement to be a part of CAMP EDMO Noe Valley for a third year! A Bay Area Native, Catie has a Bachelors in Art Education from CSU Chico and her Masters In Teaching and Teaching Credential from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. During the school year, Catie is a High School Art Teacher in Oakland. Outside of working and teaching, Catie is an active artist in the field of drawing and printmaking, enjoys being outside in the California sun and pestering her cat with snuggles. With a passion and drive for education, Catie is ready to bring enthusiasm and creativity to every camper at Noe Valley!

Zoe is excited for her fourth summer as a Counselor at CAMP EDMO! After graduating High School, Zoe is off to GWU in the Fall! Over the past 10 years, Zoe has risen through the ranks of CAMP EDMO and has held practically every role at the camp – a camper, an LIT, and a Counselor. Her favorite aspect of CAMP EDMO is the unique opportunities it offers to the campers and all the fun activities they get to participate in during the summer.  This year, Zoe hopes to spread all of the EDMO vibe she has acquired over the past ten years and make the summer of 2017 the most fun possible!

Chelsea Cordova is in her second year working at CAMP EDMO! She was previously a counselor and is now returning to become the Maker Instructor at the San Francisco Noe Valley site. Chelsea is a second year student attending California State University East Bay majoring in Speech Pathology and is so excited to have the opportunity to teach and spread the EDMO vibe!! Her hobbies include singing, hiking, and acting like she knows how to dance!

Anika will be attending UCSB in the fall where she will be pursuing a dual major in Physics and Music. Anika loves snuggling up with a good book, rocking out on the ukulele or piano with her band, and exploring nature with her camera in hand. Someday she would like to sing the national anthem at a baseball game. Anika has over 6 years of experience babysitting and working with children through non-profits and the San Francisco Public Library and has found meaning in advocating for music and academics in the lives of the kids she’s met. She is very excited to join the CAMP EDMO team.

Valerie Smith is beyond excited to be returning to CAMP EDMO for her second summer! She was previously a counselor and is now returning to become the Science/Maker Instructor! Aside from her LOVE for Sour Patch Kids, Valerie loves to be outdoors, enjoying everything the day has to offer! She loves hanging out with her friends and her twin sister Veronica, reading a good book, or shopping! Valerie absolutely loves CAMP EDMO and can’t wait for a fantastic summer!

This is Phuong’s sixth summer at CAMP EDMO and she is returning as a Camp Counselor. She worked for AmeriCorps for two years through the Jumpstart for Young Children Program. Phuong graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts and a Master of Arts in Education from San Francisco State University. Phuong continues to pursue her career in elementary education and biotechnology. Phuong is thrilled to work for CAMP EDMO because she loves making connections with the campers, continually finding exciting new ways to provide them with assets to inspire their minds, and helping them to become successful leaders in the future. She enjoys taking local and international trips to explore different types of food cuisine. PHUONG IS READY TO ROCK THE MIC☺

Eddie Doyle is a native of San Diego and is in the Bay Area to study Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. He plays the trumpet in the marching band and has appeared at various venues including Super Bowl 50 where he played his trumpet alongside Coldplay!
