Camp Director

Angelina Gonzalez Angelina Gonzalez
Angelina Gonzalez

Angelina is thrilled to return to CAMP EDMO as the Bernal/Portola Camp Director. During the year, Angelina works as a 6th grade teacher for at Mission Dolores Academy in San Francisco. When she isn’t bringing the EMDO vibe to the classroom in between blended math rotations and civilization simulations, she can be found running around Golden Gate park and signing up for 5Ks.

Before coming to CAMP EDMO, she had spent summers directing and coordinating summer camps in Santa Barbara, San Francisco and even lead a team of student leaders to China! Angelina earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in education and political science from Westmont College in Santa Barbara. She also holds a California multiple subject teaching credential. While earning her degree, Angelina ran collegiate cross country and track & field, and still holds her college record in steeplechase!

“I have been a summer camp kid at heart for as long as I could remember. I have always seen summer as a getaway where children find role models in counselors, instructors and directors, best friends that returned each summer and form countless memories building, playing, working together and discovering their “Whoa!” moments. As a teacher in San Francisco, I see the need to change the way we look at education and I believe the summer camp experience is an exceptional way to build up our kids to be the most confident, innovative, encouraging selves they can be. CAMP EDMO encourages children to be life long learners and discover that education and fun can indeed be meshed into one!”
—Angelina Gonzalez, San Francisco Bernal/Portola Camp Director

Through an internship she got the awesome opportunity to establish a law in which puts a restriction on the amount of tobacco permits a neighborhood may have, in order to reduce the amount of second hand smoke and tobacco exposure to community members. She is currently an active member of MEChA de Sac. State where she believes every student should get the opportunity to further their education and dream big.

This is Michael’s (Kirby’s) fourth year at CAMP EDMO and he is so excited to be back! During the school year, Kirby works as instruction aide at a 3-5 elementary school in Tiburon. His pastimes include cooking, watching cartoons and playing his favorite game, disc golf! This summer you can find him singing “Icky La Boomba” or getting pied in the face by campers. Kirby is ready to make the summer of 2016 the best summer ever!

Rajean was born in Oakland, California and has two older brothers. Three years after she was born her mom had a third son which officially made her the only girl. Rajean now lives in Modesto with her parents, brothers and her dog, Token. She is now 19 years old and is currently attending California State University, Bakersfield. There she is a Psychology major. She really enjoys hanging out with her friends and watching movies. Her favorite color is blue and she is an Oakland Raiders fan.

This is Jessie’s second summer at CAMP EDMO. She is currently studying psychology at San Francisco State University and is super excited to spend her summer at EDMO again!! For fun, Jessie likes having dance parties with her best friends and her favorite games to play are banana tag and crazy kickball. Jessie believes that our youth’s sense of adventure and enthusiasm is something we should never lose. She can’t wait to team up with the kids in creative expression all summer! She is ready for a summer filled with fun and learning!

Sylvia Marie Gin is an excited and passionate human being and is always waiting for her next adventure! She is a health education student at San Francisco State University and plans to use her degree to educate others in her community on how to maintain a happy and healthy lifestyle. Being the eldest sister of four has made her want to continue to be a role model for younger generations, hoping to encourage both physically and mentally healthy behaviors at an early age. Sylvia’s favorite thing to do is explore the various parts of the city, both its natural and cultural aspects, with her friends. She knows that understanding others is the key to successfully working together and creating strong relationships. Sylvia is grateful to be in such a welcoming and diverse city! With her experience and knowledge comes a passion to help others from all backgrounds. All in all, she hopes to bring positive vibes and unique perspectives to camp, while welcoming and receiving them in return!

Emily Belenky is beyond thrilled to be back at EDMO fas an Instructor. She is looking forward to rallies, Stump Time and getting to know all the new campers! In the School Year, Emily attends City College of San Francisco and works at Clarendon Elementary Second Community Childcare. Her hobbies include everything “My Little Pony” and singing the soundtracks to all the Disney movies.

Nadia Mowad is a youth counselor who is passionate about making a positive and lasting impact while working with youth in our communities! She studied psychology and development in college. She has worked with youth of all ages and many different backgrounds and enjoys each new experience. This is her first year at CAMP EDMO. She is super proud to be a part of what CAMP EDMO stands for. Her favorite outdoor game is lava monster and she is excited to discover more fun camp games this summer!

Kelli Collins is a substitute teacher during the school year, and is looking forward to being with CAMP EDMO this summer. She earned her bachelor’s degree in History at San Francisco State University and will begin her teaching credential and master’s program in the fall. In her spare time, Kelli loves diving into a good book, exercising and getting outdoors, the occasional Netflix binge, exploring the city with her wonderful husband, and traveling to new places whenever possible!

It's your choice!

Former midnight sandwich makers rejoice! Fresh, healthy lunches are available for daily delivery to your camper.

This location features our Community Camp Program and is partially subsidized by Department of Children, Youth and Their Families. The only lunch provider option at this location is the City of San Francisco’s free/reduced summer lunch program.

Please note,  the SF Department of Children, Families and Youth currently does not have a funding source approved to provide snacks this summer to campers. For the Week of June 12, CAMP EDMO will provide snacks for the campers. However, beyond that week, please send a nut-free snack with your child. If you are staying for PM extended care, we recommend bringing an extra snack for the afternoon.

Nut Free Zone

Of course if you want to pack your own lunch, that’s cool too. If you bring lunch/snacks, please, just do not bring any products that contain nuts. We strive to create a safe place for everyone. Please help us keep our campers and staff safe.

Don’t Forget Water!

For either option, we strongly recommend packing an eco-friendly water bottle each day to make sure your camper stays hydrated. All of our facilities have water fountains.

The pregame and afterparty

You’re busy, and your kids will be too. Our AM & PM extended hours programs run from 8:00AM-6:00PM to give you peace of mind. Great for every camper who groans when mom or dad shows up! It’s even more time making cool stuff & hanging with your buds.

Save 40% OFF AM/PM Program when you in enroll in 2+ weeks of camp.

Please note that the week of July 3 (camp is closed Tuesday, July 4), the cost of the AM Program will be $32 and the cost of PM Program will be $64.

AM Program (8:00-9:00AM, $40/week)

Campers make new friends, do arts & crafts projects, play games, and participate in special activities that relate to our weekly themes.

PM Program (3:00-6:00PM, $80/week)

Campers rotate between outdoor games, indoor crafts and extra science, maker, tech, or nature projects. See the page for the programs your child will be taking part in for exact activities.

Note: For our PM Program, we recommend packing an extra snack or adding a PM Snack to your lunch order.

A la carte: ($15/hour)
