Instructors are college students, recent graduates, and industry professionals with a contagious enthusiasm for learning and teaching! A majority of our Instructors are on a path to become the next Teacher of the Year in California’s schools and can transform a typical classroom into an adventurous environment filled with  “WOW” and “A-HA” moments. Each Instructor receives 65 – 80 hours of in-person training from the curriculum writers themselves, as well as specialized EDMO® training on how to encourage curiosity, confidence and kindness in the way they lead activities.

Please note: We are incredibly excited about the Makers Movement and are willing to train and coach enthusiastic applicants for these positions. You do not need to be a Makers or Science expert to apply.

  • Counselor
"The staff was really wonderful and I feel like the people who want to work at EDMO® are overall great people to be around and learn from. I felt supported and valued. The kids were also lovely and it was awesome to feel like I was teaching them something and making an impact in their growth."
    Counselor

Counselors are the kind of folks our campers look up to…and not just because they’re taller! Counselors come from all backgrounds. They are students, artists, athletes, and all around amazing people who spend the entire week with our campers learning names, favorite hobbies and all about what they want to be when they grow up – maybe even an EDMO® Counselor?  Each of our Counselors receives 45 – 60 hours of training in group management, conflict resolution, outdoor recreation, and helping lead activities. They also identify personal and professional goals for the season and the Camp Director works with them to help reach those goals with regular observations and feedback.

  • Home Office Staff
"There’s a lot going on, but its a lot of fun! We have a great team here and just so stoked for what more we will have to offer! Rocking that EDMO® vibe 24/7! “
    Home Office Staff

Though the majority of our staffing needs occur during the summer, we are always looking for the best of the best to continue spreading the EDMO VIBE® into the year as part of our Home Office team.  These positions include marketing staff, business office staff and more! Each member of our team is carefully selected through a two (or sometimes three) step interview process to rock that EDMO VIBE and keep our programs and office rocking year round!

“I must say that the enthusiasm and genuine caring that your staff shows to the campers makes for an incredibly comfortable and welcoming environment. It's not easy to leave your child alone for the day, but when you feel like they are not only safe, but in caring hands, it makes you feel like you made the right choice as a parent. Thank you to the staff members at EDMO for making my son's first summer camp experience amazing.”
