Camp EDMO™ collaborates with top Bay Area children’s museums, 400+ schools and thousands of families to inspire curiosity, confidence and kindness in approximately 10,000 youth each year. By joining our team you’ll be promoting hands-on learning experiences in schools. Camp Directors are that big ball of energy that inspires camp staff and campers alike. It’s no small feat to become a Camp Director. After our thorough interview and hiring process, each Camp Director goes through over 100 hours of training. In addition to group trainings, Camp Directors also meet with Sharon Mor, Camp EDMO™ Co-founder and a Certified Life Coach, for one-on-one life coaching sessions that focus on their desired areas of personal growth through their summer camp experience. Camp Directors are responsible for all aspects of their camp site from hiring and training staff, managing all day to day and bringing that EDMO VIBE!

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Coaches are a brand new edition to our equity site regional teams! Each SEL Coach will undergo a multiple step interview process. Once hired, our coaches undergo and participate in all our counselor training, in addition to SEL specific training. SEL Coaches are responsible for helping staff integrate SEL methodology and learning styles into all aspects of the camp day. Through helping staff develop and grow, our coaches will enjoy their own personal and professional growth along the way!

 

STEAM Coaches are a brand new edition to our equity site regional teams! Each STEAM Coach will undergo a multiple step interview process. Once hired, our coaches undergo training on all our award winning curriculum, in addition to STEAM specific training. STEAM Coaches are responsible for helping staff integrate STEAM methodology and learning styles into all aspects of the camp day. Our EDMO Jr. Instructors are college students, recent graduates and industry professionals with a contagious enthusiasm for learning – and teaching! This priceless person is in charge of all aspects of our Pre-K/Kindergarten program from teaching curriculum to managing Jr. alternatives to the larger camp day. It’s no small feat to become an EDMO Jr. Instructor and after our thorough interview and hiring process, each person goes through EDMO Jr. specific training to learn the ins and outs of this unique program. This job is perfect for those who love being surrounded by the little ones.

Please note: General teaching skills and endless patience are the most important aspects of this position -we can teach you more about working with this age group!

Counselors are the kind of folks our campers look up to…and not just because they’re taller! Counselors come from all backgrounds. They are students, artists, athletes, and all around amazing people who spend the entire week with our campers learning names, favorite hobbies and all about what they want to be when they grow up – maybe even an EDMO™ Counselor?  Each of our Counselors receives 45 – 60 hours of training in group management, conflict resolution, outdoor recreation, and helping lead activities. They also identify personal and professional goals for the season and the Camp Director works with them to help reach those goals with regular observations and feedback.

Our EDMO™ Leader-in-Training (LIT) program is for those looking to build leadership and child development skills in themselves…and rockets, slime and pickle batteries with our campers. LITs are given a chance to be of service, to cultivate strengths they may not have known they had and lay the foundation for leadership positions in the future. Our EDMO™ Leader-in-Training Program focuses on team bonding and a deepened sense of responsibility in both the day-to-day interactions and overall vibe and camp experience.  Leaders-in-Training gain community service hours, an accomplishment report, the opportunity to earn the President’s Volunteer Service Award, and access to a network of support in the enrichment field.
